Old Glory Band Biographies

The Old Glory Band was founded by bass player Ron “Rebel” Neal, in Sarasota, in 2013. They are a 4-piece band with two guitars, a bass and drums.  OGB prides themselves on playing familiar Rock ‘n Roll songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, that are “Classics”, but in many cases songs other bands do not play.

Over the years, there have been several guitar players and a few drummers.  In 2018, Bob and Cary joined Ron and the three of them have been together ever since.  In June of 2025, Phil joined the band as a guitarist; he brings great solos, a positive attitude, and excellent balance to the band.

The Old Glory Band plays various venues (as seen on our “Shows” page) from Bradenton thru Sarasota to Englewood.  C’mon out and see the band, you will not be disappointed.

Cary played in bands throughout high school and a little in college, then went acoustic.  As his professional career as a school principal continued, Cary had the itch to get back into the band scene.   He played in several bands in the Cleveland area, most notably a hard rockin’ band with a great following, named Ignoring Daniel.

Cary and his wife moved to Venice in 2013.  He played with a few bands until joining The Old Glory Band in 2018.  Cary’s musical influences are quite eclectic, stemming from David Gilmour, Joe Walsh, Jimmy Buffett, Alice Cooper and Jimmy Page.
